Xbox live get message that games have an update

If not, are there any plans to add a check for updates button or something? Unlike other PC download applications the Xbox app doesn't do the installation of games although it looks like it does. All games are actually installed via the Windows Store. To update your games manually you should be able do this via the Windows Store and access updates from the top right corner of the store in the same way all Windows Store apps are updated.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. As stated in my initial post, I have tried updating in the microsoft store. The "get updates" button on the upper right of the microsoft store does indeed manage to find updates for useless built-in apps I really wish I could delete; but it has never once found an update for a game. As far as I can tell, there doesn't seem to be a way to check individual games for an update. This is really weird. For example, I was on Dead by Daylight 5.

Neither the microsoft store nor the xbox app detected this automatically. When I pressed "get updates" in the microsoft store, it managed to find updates for "your phone" and "microsoft solitaire collection", but not Dead by Daylight or any other game.

I ended up having to uninstall the game, redownload, and reinstall it. This took multiple hours and made the internet extremely slow , but did actually manage to fetch the update. The Xbox app does have an "update all" button in the upper right; but this button is always grayed out and has never once been clickable, making it worthless, as is the "automatic updates" switch on the same screen.

Is there some hidden button to force an individual game for updates? Or is there some setting that could be interfering? It seems extremely strange that the app can't do something as simple as noticing that the version number for a game doesn't match the most recent version. I was able to solve this. But clicking Update in that app didn't do anything.

On opening the Microsoft Store and going to updates, it listed the Doom Eternal update along with a few others. I did a Update all and to my surprise all apps, except Doom Eternal got updated and it remained in my queue.

Then I clicked Get Updates. It found a few more apps to update and this time Doom Eternal update started downloading too. No idea what the trigger is though. A couple days ago, Dead by Daylight 5. This apparently worked just fine for him and he was able to install the update. Unfortunately when I tried this, it simply tells me that it is already installed on my device. I was hoping that attempting to repair the install might find that it was out of date.

However, clicking repair merely resolves in less than 2 seconds. Unfortunately this did nothing. Once all apps were updated, pressing the "get updates" button does not find any further updates, no matter how much I do it.

As you can see, Dead by Daylight is listed as being on version 5. This system is entirely broken and desperately needs both a "check for updates" button on individual apps, and a LOT more work on the underlying systems used to detect updates in the first place. The fact that I have to completely uninstall and reinstall the game just to install small hotfixes is totally unacceptable. I'm having the same issue Games just doesn't update automatically and I can't force them to check for update Just annoying, every patch I have to uninstall and reinstall.

I've been having troubles with Wasteland 3 from the xbox-gaming-pass two times already the latter one just solved right now. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password? Don't have an account? Sign up for free! What do you need help on?

Well at Gamestop you can get a rubber ducky, a water gun, or a pirate sleeve Wii bundle. Demon 8 years ago 2. Apparently most modern games have a dashupdate. Halo 2 has the newest version of the file so it should work fine. I can't confirm that this will work since I updated when I had Xbox Live in the past, but there's no harm in trying right :D. Demon posted Also, is there a way to patch the games that received patches whitout Xbox Live?

Did they actually bothered to update Halo 2 Platinum Hits to the latest version? Because Halo 2 actually came out in Q4 , but was later re-released as a Platinum Hits version in Q1 , but since I already have the Q4 I was unsure wether these guys bothered to include any new updates or just reput together the same build as the Q4 version. Can you confirm? Demon 8 years ago 5.
